My professional, family and volunteer experiences have given me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of people both as a team member and in leadership roles. The list below describes some of those roles. At the bottom of this page is a list of articles that I've published which show the breadth and depth of my knowledge of local issues, and also a list of articles published professionally.
Richardson Zoning Board of Adjustment/Appeal The ZBA hears requests from citizens for variances from city zoning and fence ordinances where special conditions indicate that strict application of the ordinance would create an unnecessary hardship and would not be in the best interests of the city. Unlike other Boards and Commissions, decisions of the ZBA are final and not subject to approval by the City Council. I was appointed to the ZBA in June 2001.
Selective Service System Local Board Appointed by the President of the United States of America. In the event that a military draft is ever necessary, I am a member of a five person local Board that would hear requests for deferments and exemptions.
President, J. J. Pearce Homeowners Association President since September 2000, membership has grown, a relationship has been established with most other Association, and the newsletter has become a publication that is widely read and frequently complimented. During my tenure the Association has helped the fire department acquire the Fire Safety House and helped the police department grow the bicycle patrol unit. We are currently working with RISD to landscape the athletic side of JJ Pearce High School.
